The date code of the system – the first set of digits in the serial number (MM/DD/YYYY) - will tell you when your system was built.  You will need to know this to find the most appropriate manuals for your system.  All manuals have a date range listed at the end of their description; be sure to find the manual whose date range encompasses the time period when your system was built.  If there is no end date on a manual description, this means it is the most current version of the manual and should be used for systems whose date codes are from that starting time period to the present day.
